Some people think they participate in democracy, though it may be mainly their imagination. I think I have discussions with ghosts, gods, mountain spirits, whatever, and I know my imagination has _something_ to do with it. I think my imagination meets whatevers there about halfway, the same way a radio actually transmits a weak signal on the frequency its set to receive to set up the resonance of receiving. It makes no sense to me to assume the normative view of _anything_ is ever true. Especially about anything important. Other hand, get too far out of the box, and they send someone to drag you back in.
